Living in a homeless shelter isn’t ideal, but I refuse to let it define me. Each day is a gift from God, and every morning is a step forward. When I arrived in Ottawa, I was at rock bottom—now, little by little, I’m climbing out.
My mornings start with a walk to the bus stop, heading to church. The city feels different before sunrise—quiet, almost hopeful, as if the day ahead holds new possibilities.
This morning, I’m heading to early prayer at my church—a routine that keeps me grounded. My faith in God is what gets me through each day. For now, Wednesday mornings start with prayer, a moment of peace before facing the challenges ahead. I know this routine may change once I find work, but one thing won’t: my relationship with God. He always provides.
Beyond my faith, my children are my greatest source of strength. They keep me going in ways they don’t even realize. I don’t talk about them much out of respect for their privacy, but if not for them, I don’t know where I’d be.
I hope you all have a blessed day!
