I've come to realize that I must train my eyes to see the light even in the darkest moments. This past Saturday, I shared a joyful day at the wave pool with two of my kids—a simple moment that reminded me of the unexpected blessings in my life.
Recently, my Ontario Works application was approved, and for the first time in a while, I have a bit of financial relief. While I sometimes wish that change came faster, I’ve learned that progress is a journey, not a race. I’ve often struggled with relying on others, having only known financial support through the kindness of strangers. Yet, I refuse to beg or panhandle. Instead, I’m embracing every resource available—like the free meals at the shelter—and cherishing the thoughtful help from a few generous souls at my church. Beyond the money, the wisdom and encouragement I’ve received from those who care have been invaluable.
I’ve chosen honesty over hiding my past. I believe that confronting potential problems head-on is far better than letting them fester in secrecy. By sharing my story with my church community—including the lead pastor and associate pastors—I’ve found strength in openness and received tremendous support.
I also attend an inspiring Men’s group on Friday mornings at my church, where faith and fellowship keep me grounded. For those who believe in Jesus, these experiences may resonate deeply. Even when my past sought to hold me back, I’ve come to understand that God can transform trials into triumphs—a truth reminiscent of the message in Genesis 50:20.
Central to my life now is the commitment to maintaining integrity. Guided by the wisdom of 1 Thessalonians 5:22, I strive to live without any shadow of doubt cast upon my actions. I intentionally invite others into parts of my daily life where I might otherwise be tempted to stray. This isn’t merely about avoiding wrongdoing; it’s about upholding a standard of honor—especially as I navigate the complexities of being separated while still honoring my marriage. I firmly believe that fidelity matters, and I remain committed to a life that reflects that belief.
Thank you for giving me the space to share these reflections and for listening to my journey toward redemption and hope.
