Today is a great day for a walk...
Today promised to be a day of quiet adventure—a perfect invitation for a long, reflective walk under a clear spring sky. The temperature hovered around 13°C (55°F), creating a gentle warmth that nudged me outdoors after a productive, albeit bittersweet, morning. Despite having ticked off nearly every task on my list, a nagging frustration remained: an overwhelming desire to do more, often stymied by forces beyond my control.
My morning unfolded in the sanctuary of the local library, a familiar haven of ideas and respite. Later, I cherished a spontaneous moment with one of my children—treating her to a small indulgence of fries from a chip wagon, a modest luxury that brightened our shared time despite my tight budget.
I wandered through the vibrant Byward Market, absorbing its lively energy, pausing briefly at a public restroom—a small reminder of life's unpredictable challenges—before continuing my journey. Crossing the Alexandra Bridge, I couldn't help but notice the ice melting faster each day, a silent metaphor for change in our world. As the afternoon unfolded, I returned to my shelter for the mandatory check-in, choosing a time just after 16:30, coinciding with the residents’ dinner service—a small comfort amid routine.
After ensuring my children were set for their after-school activities, I sought solace and renewal at church. Every other Wednesday evening, at 18:30, I find grounding in the familiar embrace of worship—a ritual that consistently rekindles my spirit and deepens my connection to faith.
I hope everyone has a blessed day!
